The second of a two-episode look at the Commander-in-Chief of the AEF, GEN John J. Pershing, from the personal to the professional.
Robert J. Laplander and I collaborated on creating an audiobook version of his book “Finding the Lost Battalion: Beyond the Rumors, Myths and Legends of America’s Famous WW1 Epic” and here it finally is.
The audio version of “Finding the Lost Battalion” comes to you in podcast form, ready to download and provide nearly 36 hours of the retelling of America’s WW1 epic of devastating modern battle and indomitable bravery under horrific conditions.

I very much enjoy the podcasts, especially the two most recent about Pershing.
Of course the focus of the podcasts is the Western Front, especially the American participation. I see that there are occasional episodes about the Italian or Russian fronts, aviation, etc. but do you ever do anything about the war at sea (U-boat and other), or the Austrian/Balkan front? The various home fronts? Code-breaking and espionage?
Hi Mr. Dorfman,
Thanks for your kind words. I have not yet had the opportunity to cover sea actions and the Eastern Front (other than Tannenberg, available on Patreon). I do hope to cover a wider range of topics in the future, however.
Best regards,
Mike
My favorite episodes so far! I like the way you pull in information from so many sources to tell a great story. The podcast is a great supplement to my own reading and exploration. Looking forward to more on Gen Pershing and the AEF!
Hi Ms. Friend,
Thank you for the kind words. More is coming soon on the AEF in the Meuse-Argonne.
Best regards,
Mike
